Espoir Care, formerly Being Human Care

What it is

A support worker helps with the parts you find hard and leaves the rest to you. That might be getting in and out of the shower, getting dressed, shaving, doing your hair, continence care or moving safely from the bed to a chair.

We ask how you like things done and write it in your care plan, so every worker follows the same routine.

Who it is for

  • Adults and children with disability
  • People recovering from illness or surgery
  • Veterans approved for personal care through DVA
  • Anyone who wants to keep living at home and needs a hand with daily care

What a typical visit looks like

  1. Your support worker arrives at the same time each day where possible.
  2. They help with your morning or evening routine, the way your care plan sets out.
  3. They keep an eye on anything you have asked them to, like your skin or your mood, and tell you or your family if something seems different.
  4. Before they leave, they make sure you are comfortable and have what you need within reach.

Questions people ask

Can I choose a male or female support worker?

Yes, please tell us your preference. We will do our best to match it every time.

What if I need help early in the morning or late at night?

Tell us the times you need. We will let you know honestly what we can cover before we start.

Will it be the same support worker each time?

We try to keep the same small group of workers with you, so you get to know them and they get to know you.
