Espoir Care, formerly Being Human Care

What it is

A support worker can drive you and stay with you while you are out, if you need them to.

If you would like to travel on your own, we can help you learn. That might mean practising a bus or train trip together until you feel confident.

TODO confirm staff use their own cars for client transport and how they are insured

TODO confirm NDIS registration for this service before saying you are registered

Who it is for

  • People who cannot drive or use public transport on their own because of disability
  • People who want to learn to travel independently
  • People who need support at an appointment as well as getting there

What a typical trip looks like

  1. We agree the trip, the pick-up time and whether you need support at the other end.
  2. Your support worker picks you up and helps you in and out of the car if needed.
  3. They stay with you or come back at a set time, as agreed.
  4. They make sure you get home safely.

Questions people ask

Can you take me to a medical appointment?

Yes. Your support worker can drive you, wait with you and help you remember what the doctor said, if you would like.

Are there kilometre charges?

There may be. The NDIS allows providers to claim some travel costs. We will explain what applies to you before your first trip.

Can you help me learn to catch the bus?

Yes. We can practise the trip together, step by step, until you are confident.
